Playoff Game Friday

Good Morning,

In light of recent events, I have heard various concerns and questions about the game on Friday. I just wanted to send a message to help communicate the plans for the marching band on Friday.

We are still planning on attending the playoff game at Sto-Rox. The district is still planning on busing the students to and from the game. If any of this changes, I will communicate with you as quickly as possible.

If you have concerns or questions about traveling, please let me know. If you should decide not to attend the game on Friday, the district and I need to know by Noon tomorrow (Thursday, October 29th). If we do not hear from you, it will be assumed that you are going to the game Friday. Please communicate concerns or questions to me directly through email at [email protected]

We still have practice today.

Thank you to the boosters for providing food on Friday.

Thank you.

Mr. Croach

First Day of Band Camp!

This post is to give you some last minute reminders and information for tomorrow. 1. Drop-Off/Parking: The district will be working on the back parking lot. All traffic and parking will be through the front and side of the building. Attached is a map to assist with the flow. Parents, please drive around the front of the school and drop students off at the stop sign on the front corner. Student drivers should follow a similar path and park on the side of the school in front of the softball field. 2. Check-In: When arriving, please use the markings on the sidewalk to remain 6 ft apart. Reminder, no student should enter the building before completing the attendance and screening process. Feel free to bring your own completed screening form. If taking your own temperature at home, please do so just before leaving for practice. 3. Masks are a required part of our covid guideline policy. If you have questions, concerns, or need PPE, please let me know. 4. Bring your own water and snacks. Please make sure to label your bottles and snacks. Remember to keep your bottles separated from other students’ bottles or supplies. (Do not bring in cases of water) 5. Physical Health: Get Rest, Eat a Full Breakfast, Hydrate, and Put On/Bring Sunscreen. Plan to be outside for the majority of the day. There is a slight chance for early afternoon rain. Please plan accordingly. 6. Don’t forget Instrument, Music, Auxiliary Supplies, or anything else you may need. 7. Please bring completed handbook contracts and medical forms. These can be found under the class work tab or on the band website under the resources and forms tab. https://laurelspartanband.org/ 8. Camp officially starts at 8:30am. Please plan to arrive a little early to assist in expediting the screening/attendance process. The day ends at 1:00pm. I am very excited for tomorrow and hope you are too! Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Booster Meeting July 7th Summary

A main item that was discussed in the meeting was how to get started back up with practices. Attached in the forms page, please find the Covid Guidelines sheet as well as the District Activity Waiver. The Covid Guidelines sheet gives a brief summary of the 10 main points regarding how to maintain proper safety protocols during practices, games, meetings, etc. as of now. The activity waiver is something that all students and parents will have to complete before they are permitted to participate in any practices or activities. The students will also go through a screening process before every activity.

We also discussed ways to stay up to date with information and communication. There is a communication information sheet attached to forms page as well. It should help you navigate to the band app, student google classroom, etc.

The boosters also discussed various forms in order to volunteer as a parent. All parents will need to complete the district volunteer packet. They also need to complete and return a  band volunteer sheet.

The band parents are hopeful to put together a new member parent meeting. This date was not finalized as of yet. However, they are looking at doing this in the evening sometime the week of July 27-31.

Part of the meeting was voting in new officers. All officers remained the same except for a change in Vice President. That will now be held by Linda Gargasz

These are some of the main points from the meeting. For more information or if you have any questions or concerns, please contact Mr. Croach [email protected]
